Academic Scholarships

All academic scholarships are pre-determined based on your transcript and SAT/ACT scores and will be awarded both in your acceptance letter and in your final financial aid award letter. The following awards are for students starting in fall 2017 or spring 2018.

B.T. Roberts Scholarship (Full Tuition Guarantees Available)

Three students will receive a full-tuition scholarship (minus other RWC, federal, and state grants and scholarships). Students must attend the Academic Scholarship Weekend on February 3-4 to be eligible for this award. The award will be determined based on an interview during the weekend, an essay, and SAT/ACT scores and high school academic performance. The three recipients of this award will be notified by March 6.

To attend the Academic Scholarship Weekend, a student must be accepted to Roberts Wesleyan College and meet one of the following academic criteria:

  • A minimum high school grade point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale

  • Meet one of the following standardized test requirements:
    • A minimum 1,200 SAT (critical reading and math combined) from the old SAT test (Pre-March 2016)
    • A minimum 1,270 SAT (critical reading and math combined) from the new SAT test (March 2016 and after) in accordance with the May 2016 concordance table
    • A minimum 27 ACT

Trustee Scholarship - $18,000 per year

The Trustee Scholarship awards $18,000 per year to recipients whose character is consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 2.80 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • High School grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Meet one of the following standardized test requirements:
    • A minimum 1,250 SAT (critical reading and math combined) from the old SAT test (Pre-March 2016)
    • A minimum 1,310 SAT (EBRW and math combined) from the new SAT test (March 2016 and after) in accordance with the May 2016 concordance table
    • A minimum 28 ACT

New Canadian Students:

  • 88% overall average

Presidential Scholarship - $16,000 per year

The Presidential Scholarship awards $16,000 per year to recipients whose character is consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 2.80 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • High School grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Meet one of the following standardized test requirements:
    • A minimum 1,100 SAT (critical reading and math combined) from the old SAT test (Pre-March  2016)
    • A minimum 1,170 SAT (EBRW and math combined) from the new SAT test (March 2016 and after) in accordance with the May 2016 concordance table
    • A minimum 24 ACT

New Canadian Students:

  • 84% overall average

Dean's Scholarship - $14,000 per year

The Dean's Scholarship awards $14,000 per year to recipients who are admitted as first-year students and represent character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 2.80 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • High School grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Urban League of Rochester Black Scholar graduates starting their freshmen year at Roberts
  • Ibero-American Action League Scholarship recipients starting their freshmen year at Roberts

New Canadian Students:

  • 80% overall average

Founder's Scholarship - $12,000 per year

The Founder's Scholarship awards $12,000 per year to recipients who are admitted as first-year students and represent character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 2.80 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • High School grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • 76% overall average

National Merit Scholarship

The Roberts Merit Scholarship awards full-tuition scholarships (minus other RWC, federal, and state grants and scholarships) to National Merit Scholar Finalists.

This award is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 2.80 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time freshmen applicants:

  • National Merit Scholar Finalist for full-tuition
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College
