Academic Scholarships

All academic scholarships are pre-determined based on your transcript and SAT/ACT scores and will be awarded both in your acceptance letter and in your final financial aid award letter. The following awards are for students starting in fall 2016 or spring 2017.

B.T. Roberts Scholarship (Full Tuition Guarantees Available)

Three students will receive a full-tuition scholarship (after financial aid). Students must attend the Academic Scholarship Weekend on January 29-30 to be eligible for this award. The award will be determined based on an interview during the weekend, an essay, and SAT/ACT scores and high school academic performance. The three recipients of this award will be notified by March 1.

To attend the Academic Scholarship Weekend, a student must be accepted to Roberts Wesleyan College and have a minimum 1,200 SAT (critical reading and math combined) or 27 ACT along with a minimum high School grade point average of 3.2.  All interested individuals must RSVP by January 15.

Trustee Scholarship - $14,000 per year

The Trustee Scholarship awards $14,000 per year to recipients whose character is consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains a least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • Minimum 1,300 SAT (critical reading and math combined) or 29 ACT
  • High School grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

New Canadian Students:

  • 88% overall average

Transfer:

  • Member of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – must provide membership certificate to Admissions

Presidential Scholarship - $13,000 per year

The Presidential Scholarship awards $13,000 per year to recipients whose character is consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains a least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • Minimum 1,200 SAT (critical reading and math combined) or 27 ACT
  • High School grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

New Canadian Students:

  • 84% overall average

Transfer Students:

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.60-4.0 at most recent college attended full-time

Dean's Scholarship - $12,000 per year

The Dean's Scholarship awards $12,000 per year to recipients whose character is consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • Minimum 1,100 SAT (critical reading and math combined) or 24 ACT
  • High School grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Urban League of Rochester Black Scholar graduates starting their freshmen year at Roberts
  • Ibero-American Action League Scholarship recipients starting their freshmen year at Roberts

New Canadian Students:

  • 80% overall average

Transfer Students:

  • Average of 3.30-3.59 at most recent college attended full-time

Founder's Scholarship - $11,000 per year

The Founder's Scholarship awards $11,000 per year to recipients whose character is consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewed annually, provided the student maintains a least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time applicants:

Freshman:

  • Minimum 1,000 SAT (critical reading and math combined) or 21 ACT
  • High School grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

New Canadian Students:

  • 76% overall average

Transfer Students:

  • Average of 3.0-3.29 at most recent college attended full-time

National Merit Scholarship

The Roberts Merit Scholarship awards full-tuition scholarships (minus other RWC, federal, and state grants and scholarships) to National Merit Scholar Finalists.

This award is renewed annually, provided the student maintains a 3.40 cumulative grade point average. The following criteria apply to first-time freshmen applicants:

  • National Merit Scholar Finalist for full-tuition
  • Character consistent with the goals of Roberts Wesleyan College
