Pre-Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a thriving profession and offers many options including working as a general practitioner, a specialist, and or educator.

  • The Pre-Occupational Therapy Track prepares you to apply for entry into an OT program at the graduate level.
  • Students applying to Roberts Entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) Program may secure a seat as early as their sophomore year in college. See more about our Early Acceptance Program (linked to new OTD EAP page).
  • Students will choose a major at Roberts. Options include but are not limited to: Biology, Psychology, Exercise Science, Education, or those in the social sciences. 
  • Students will need to meet the  specific requirements of the graduate school(s) to which they are applying. 
  • Good scholarship (grade point average of 3.0 or higher) is an important prerequisite to being considered for entrance into graduate schools.

Courses include:

    • Anatomy & Physiology I and II
    • General Science
    • Abnormal Psychology
    • Developmental Psychology
    • Anthropology or Sociology
    • Statistics
  • Research Methods (recommended)
  • Medical Terminology (recommended)

Dr. Jason Taylor serves as the pre-professional health advisor and the college is a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.

Adolescence Education Chemistry - Students completing the Adolescence Education Chemistry program are prepared to apply for New York State teaching certification in Chemistry en route to becoming a Chemistry teacher.
