Adolescence Education Biology

  • Prepares students to apply for New York State teaching certification in Biology for grades 7-12 (with an extension in Biology for grades 5-6).
  • Students have the option of completing requirements for dual certification in Adolescence Education Biology 7-12 and Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalists.
  • Prepares students to pursue graduate studies in education, Biology, or other related disciplines.
  • Students have the opportunity to participate in the Adopt-a-School program and other STEM initiatives.

All Adolescence Education Biology students are assigned an advisor in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences as well as an advocate in the Teacher Education Department.

Forensic Science - With a Forensic Science Degree, students use scientific principles & established laboratory procedures to identify/characterize evidence found criminal investigation sites.
