Paul Shewan, conductor
There are currently two brass quintets and a low brass ensemble. The brass quintets consist of two trumpets, a French horn, a tuba, and a trombone. The low brass ensemble consists of trombones, bass trombones, euphoniums, and tubas. The groups perform an array of styles ranging from early Baroque to modern music. Each ensemble rehearses once a week and performs in the PRISM concert each spring and fall, which features all of the department's chamber ensembles. The groups also perform in the Christmas Gala concert, the Brass and Saxophone Studio Recital, and at special events, including Commencement ceremonies, accompanying the Chorale, and performing in departmental recitals both on- and off-campus.
