Degree Requirements
Major Requirements for B.A. in Studio Art: 43 Hours
- Sequential art history courses (ART 191, 291, 391 or substitution of ART 490 for one art history course)
- Upper-level issues course (ART 491) and both senior capstone courses (ART 496 and 497)
- 12 hours of foundations courses during first two semesters (ART 102, 103, 104, and 105)
- A 9-hour focus in one studio area such as painting, printmaking, or ceramics
- 6 hours of studio electives
Major Requirements for B.S. in Studio Art: 55 Hours
- Sequential art history courses (ART 191, 291, 391 or substitution of ART 490 for one art history course);
- Upper-level issues course (ART 491) and both senior capstone courses (ART 496 and 497);
- 12 hours of foundations courses during first two semesters (ART 102, 103, 104, and 105);
- 6 hours of art electives in one studio area such as painting, printmaking, or ceramics;
- A 21-hour studio concentration from the following list:
- Ceramics;
- Drawing & Painting-Emphasis: Drawing;
- Drawing & Painting-Emphasis: Painting;
- Graphic Design;
- Photography;
- Printmaking;
- Sculpture;
- Digital Video
Students should contact the Department of Visual Arts for the required course list for the selected concentration.
