Major Requirements

39 hours as follows:

  • One upper-level composition course (COMP 3200, 3210, or 3410)
  • Four survey courses (LITR 2010, 2020, 2040, 2050, 2070, 2080)
  • Two major author courses (LITR 3030, 3050, 3120)
  • One theory course (COMM 3010 or LITR 3070)
  • Two senior-level literature courses (LITR 4050 and either LITR 4020 or LITR 4030)
  • Nine semester hours (three courses) of electives selected from any of the previously listed courses not already used to meet a requirement or from the following: LITR 3040, 3090, 3140, 3150.
  • Recommended but not required: COMM 4090, HIST 3050, and WST 2050.

Communication - As a Communication Major, you will complete three main components: Christian Liberal Arts, Communication Coursework, as well as your Concentration coursework, en route to a Communication Degree.
History - We believe that the History major will prepare men and women to be active and thoughtful participants in our complex and ever changing world, en route to a History Degree.
Spanish Minor - The Spanish major consists of upper-level Spanish courses taught by qualified instructors, many of whom are native speakers. Successful completion of this program results in a Spanish Minor.
