“Coming to Roberts from a different culture wasn’t easy, but I feel blessed that I have so many great people around me and I can learn more and more every day.”

Tamas Nagy hails from Szár, Hungary and brings with him a dream to become a professional soccer player.

What’s your passion?

To show people that anything is possible. I want to become a professional soccer player and play at the highest level.

How has studying at Roberts helped you grow your character?

Coming to Roberts from a different culture wasn’t easy, but I feel blessed that I have so many great people around me and I can learn more and more every day. I have changed a lot in a good way. Now, I can see life from new perspectives!

At Roberts, I have had the opportunity to get to know great people and to get closer to God. God is great!

What is the best thing about studying your major?

Studying business and coaching is my passion, so I enjoy all my classes. Listening and learning from great professors help me to be prepared for the next chapter.

Creating friendships and connecting with people is absolutely amazing!

What’s it like being on the soccer team?

It is the best thing that I have here at Roberts. I couldn’t imagine myself without “the boys!” We have a really talented team of great guys, and I am excited about our next season.

Coach Reber believed in me from the beginning. I am thankful that our soccer team is like a family.

What soccer accomplishments are you most proud of?

Our last season went really well, and we made it to the national championship final in Florida. I scored 16 goals and gave 11 assists in the season and had an opportunity to play in a professional indoor league with the Rochester Lancers.

What do you love most about being a Resident Assistant?

Helping others and creating friendships with my fellow students.

Who is your favorite professor and what’s one way they’ve helped you?

That’s a hard question because I have many great professors, and they all helped me a lot but, if I have to choose, I’ll go with Professor Todd - he has helped me to believe when it seems impossible and to trust in God.

Coach Clifford has also given me advice for coaching and for life, and he has motivated me to do my best every single day.

“Tamas is one of those amazing people you want in your classes, on your team, and on your friends list. He brings himself fully to whatever he is doing, whether sports or academics, and does it to the best of his ability. Lindsey Mwene Headshot

“Tamas is a great leader in the classroom and on the soccer field. Currently, in my Project Management Class, I've seen Tamas challenge himself to create a business of his own where he can guide other students from his home country to follow a similar process of how he was able to come for school. In the last 14 weeks, he's brought a dream of his alive and is learning daily how to adapt and make his dream come true.”
