Roberts Virtual Panel Discussion to Examine the Role of Risk in Leadership

Role of Risk in Leadership

Roberts Wesleyan College will host a virtual fall leadership breakfast featuring local experts to facilitate a discussion on managing risk and seizing opportunity. The event will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, via Zoom.

Rochester was built on companies and organizations that took a risk. But it’s important to recognize why and when a risk is worth it. Panelists will discuss when to evaluate and seize a risk, the controls and processes that can be used in managing risk, and how leaders and organizations can recover from risks that didn’t pan out.

The event’s panelists will be CDS Life Transitions President & CEO Sankar Sewnauth, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School President Dr. Angela D. Sims and Kodak Chief Technical Officer & Senior Vice President Dr. Terry R. Taber. Throughout the discussion, attendees will hear personal stories from Sewnauth, Sims and Taber, who will share practical ways to lead and train others, create a framework for risk and establish a culture that encourages risk for growth.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the presentation and network during breakout room sessions. The event will be moderated by Lisa Tiffin, director of government, corporate and foundation relations at Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary. Tiffin has led the biannual leadership breakfast series since 2015.

Tickets are free, but registration is required in advance. Event sponsorships are also available by contacting Lisa Tiffin at tiffin_lisa@roberts.edu and there will be an opportunity to support student scholarships through the Roberts Fund. To register, click here.
