Dr. Emily Robinson

Associate Professor of Education; Director, Undergraduate Program

Profile

Dr. Emily Robinson was born in Rochester, NY and graduated from Allendale Columbia School. She taught science in private and alternative school programs in both the United States and overseas before returning to New York State to earn her NYS teaching certification in Earth Science and Students with Disabilities (Earth Science - Grades 7-12). While continuing to teach in both private and public schools, Emily achieved her doctorate in Education.

Based on these experiences, Emily’s current research interests include systemic inequalities in public education; teacher and student efficacy, including among female academics; cultural humility; and best practices with marginalized youth.

Emily is passionate about mission work and giving back to her community. She regularly volunteers with her church and is involved with leading and supporting community outreach efforts. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, traveling, gardening, weather watching, hiking, and spending time with her four children, Daynea, Elisa, Abigail, and Andre.
