This Post-Master’s Certificate in Literacy leads to Literacy (All Grades) certification, preparing you to meet the growing demand in schools by serving as a literacy specialist, interventionist, or coach. This program is intended for certified teachers with a Master’s degree seeking to learn more about teaching literacy, with emphasis on assessment-driven, evidence-based instruction in reading and writing.
SPECIFICS OF THE POST-MASTER'S CERTIFICATE IN LITERACY
Minimum Total Hours: 18
Admission Requirements:
- Submission of a resume.
- Transcripts demonstrating a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and an earned Master’s Degree.
- Proof of certification in TEACH.
(Note: Since Initial NYS certification is a requirement for admission, general pedagogical core requirements are met through previous coursework.)
