Special Program in Coaching Licensure

When all courses (a minimum of 12 hours) are successfully completed, the student will apply directly to the New York State Education Department for licensure.

NOTE:  These classes are also part of a Coaching Minor.

For individuals who are not certified as a Physical Education teacher and wish to coach in New York State, Roberts Wesleyan University offers a series of courses designed to meet the coaching requirements established by the Commissioner of Education at the State Education Department.

The courses are as follows:

PEDU 2250 Administration of Interscholastic Athletics
PEDU 2350 Coaching Techniques and Practices
PEDU 2500 Scientific Bases of Exercise
PEDU 4500 Coaching Practicum
PHST 2010 First Aid/CPR
