Northeastern Seminary Distinguished Alumni

Alma is the Patient Experience & Trauma Ombudsman at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where she assists health care professionals in providing trauma-informed care by suggesting and providing supportive interventions for the care team to provide care to both patients and families using an holistic approach. Her ultimate goal is to make space for emotional and spiritual safety to help create a calm connection during unsettling experiences.

Alma's favorite memories of her time at the Northeastern Seminary include retreats, internships, and spiritual formation. Alma has been called on to assist in facilitating several workshops and was invited to speak to nursing students at Roberts about her current role. She shared insight on the patient-caregiver relationship through compassionate communication.

Beyond her career, Alma is an Ordained Elder in her church. In the broader community, she is involved in organizing food and clothing drives, speaking at retreats, seminars, and Rotary Club events, and leading dramatic skits and musical programs in church settings. She also offers one-on-one spiritual and emotional support through private counseling.  The goal of all of Alma’s work is to reflect a deep commitment to service, health, and building up the lives of others through both faith-based and community-centered outreach.
