Double Victory for Roberts Wesleyan: Coach Dorr, Runner White Earn Top Regional Awards
Head Coach Andrew Dorr has been named the Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the East Region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USFTCCCA).
Owen White was voted by the membership of the USTFCCCA as the Male Runner of the Year.
"Owen has had his share of ups and downs throughout his career and, as a music major and now in student teaching, he is even more busy this semester than previous seasons," said Head coach Andrew Dorr. "He is a really impressive young man and has made a lot of sacrifices that other students aren't willing to make. His development as a runner and his success this year is the product of hard work. His career is a great example for others."
Dorr led the Roberts Wesleyan Women's Cross Country team to a 10th consecutive ECC Championship title, and its first NCAA Division II East Region team championship in 2024.
The team has had significant success with four First Team All-ECC selections, the Runner of the Year award, and four USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
"We really have a lot of support here for our Cross Country program," said Dorr. "From the trails that we have right on campus and the support we get from the campus community to the alumni who come out to cheer on the teams at all of our home and local meets, Roberts is a great place to be a distance runner and it's amazing to coach here."
