Academic Summer Camps Accepting Applications

The Academic Summer Camps at Roberts Wesleyan University are designed to challenge students academically while providing a fun and supportive environment for learning. Students have the chance to experience all that the vibrant Roberts campus has to offer, from state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge laboratories to recreational spaces and campus events; campers will get a taste of the college life that awaits them in the near future.

“So many students come in, and they’re like, ‘I want to be in the medical field, but they don’t actually know what that means. I always tell students, it’s a chance to say that’s not what I thought it was going to be,” said Camp Director and Assistant Professor of Social Work, Rebecca Draper.

Jaylen Rhone '24 (Biochemistry) attended the camp when she was in high school and will be graduating from Roberts in May; she said, “We did stitches– that was the most interesting part to me. I love doing that during the program and that was when It clicked that I want to keep going, I want to keep learning this field.” Rhone works as an RA on campus, participates in campus DEI events and activities, and also participated in track and field. This year she has worked as a peer educator and mentor.
