Congratulations to the 2023 Staff Association Scholarship Winners!

The Staff Association awarded a total of $5,000 to three outstanding students.

Every year, the Staff Association awards hard-working students with scholarships. Staff members personally donate to fund three scholarships to students who exemplify leadership, Christian commitment, and service.

This year, for the first time, we also awarded an Adult and Graduate student with a scholarship.

Congratulations to this year’s Staff Association Scholarship recipients!

Dominic L. Partida ‘26 (Master’s of Social Work)

Dominic is a Community Health Worker with Providence Little Company of Mary, San Pedro, CA. He teaches classes on mental health, diabetes awareness, and coping skills.

“I’m honored to receive this scholarship. By being exposed to the wide breadth of social work, I now work in community health, serving low-income and under-resourced populations and being a resource for people who may not have access to education and services. I view my work as deeply spiritual and transformative for myself and the precious people I serve in response to the broken systems that need deep repair,” said Partida.

Ashley is heavily involved on campus, such as serving as the President of the Math and Science Club as well as working with BASIC, MHAT, Roberts Day of Giving, and the Office of Spiritual Life.

“Thank you so much for this scholarship! [I work hard to support Roberts’ mission of providing] a kind, safe, and educational environment for students of all backgrounds and cultures to enrich their pursuit of a degree at the university,” said Northrup.

Larissa’s involvement in campus includes helping SMAC’s annual fashion show, representing Nursing students in the Student Stage, and participating in Roberts’s new Leadership You program.

“Throughout my two years at Roberts, I have grown in various aspects that have evolved my character. For instance, I have become more spiritually mature. This university always reminds me of God’s love and his greatness over my life. I’ve learned to have an intimate relationship with God and rely on him more than I do myself,” said Calvin.
