Scholar Athletes: Jordon Deats and Danielle Jaeger

Jordon Deats has been an impact player for the Roberts Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team since he first stepped on the field for the Redhawks in 2021.
 
Deats is a midfielder and was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week four times during his freshman season and earned first-team All-Conference honors in 2022.

Deats, who has 14 goals in seven games this season, is off to another strong start for the Redhawks this spring, but the lacrosse field is not the only place where he stands out. The junior from Bath, N.Y., also carries a 3.75 grade-point average in Exercise Science and has been named Roberts' Male Scholar-Athlete for February.

He hopes to pursue a career in medical device sales after he graduates in 2024.  In the summer, he coaches a fourth-grade lacrosse team for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

 

Danielle Jaeger  is a sophomore from Lockport, N.Y. is the female scholar for February. Jaeger has bowled in about 70 percent of games for the Redhawks this season and has a 161 average.  
 
Academically, she is in the Global Honors program and carries a 3.65 grade-point average as a Biomedical Sciences major. She is looking forward to a three-week trip to Brazil with the Global Honors program later this year and also enjoys community service.
 
She was a member of Girl Scouts for 15 years and received her Gold Award, the most prestigious award in Girl Scouts, after completing a project to raise mental health awareness.

Jaeger may pursue a career as a physician's assistant.
