On Tuesday, March 14, the Roberts Wesleyan University Department of Music and Performing Arts hosted a special event for over 600 area third grade students. The event was hosted by the Roberts Symphony Orchestra, who performed a program that celebrated the vibrant and colorful music of Latin America.
The program featured a range of selections, including "El Salón México" by Aaron Copeland and "Huapango for Orchestra" by José Pablo Concayo. These pieces, along with others on the program, showcased the rich and diverse musical traditions of Latin America.
The performance was a wonderful opportunity for the students to experience the power and beauty of live orchestral music. For many of the students, this may have been their first exposure to classical music and the symphony orchestra.
