Alumni Spotlight: Malik Dare '18 (Business Administration) Receives the 2023 Inspire Change Award

Giving back to others is a key pillar of a Roberts’ education and a commitment that Malik Dare '18 (Business Administration) has made in Albany. Congratulations to Dare for receiving the 2023 Inspire Change Award for community work throughout the city of Albany. He is a role model who goes above and beyond to make a difference in his community.

The awards event was held on Feb. 26 at Sixty State Place, a historic building located at 60 State Street in Albany. Mayor of Albany, Kathy Sheehan, was at the event along with County Legislators. The award was given to Dare by Hood's House of Hoops, which provides a litany of youth/family programs and services to 450 participants weekly.

In addition to this award, Dare has received three others for extraordinary community service since graduating from Roberts in 2018:

  • 2021 Empire BlueCross Whole Health Hero by the Albany Business Review for stewardship during the pandemic

  • 2021 CDTA Community Champion for stellar community work

  • 2022 the Jefferson Award for extraordinary volunteerism
