Former member of the board of trustees, William H. (Bill) Castle passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at age 77. Bill served on the Roberts and Northeastern Boards of Trustees from 2017-2021.
William H. Castle was the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President, HR Business Process Effectiveness at Xerox Corporation until his retirement in 2017..
Bill began his professional career as a high school teacher in both Cleveland, OH and Memphis, TN. He joined Xerox in 1970 and during his 47-year career at Xerox, Bill held a number of key human resources positions at both the national and international levels.
Bill has significant experience as a volunteer with not-for-profits, and served on the Boards of the Catholic Family Center of Rochester, the St. Joseph Neighborhood Center, the Gamma Iota Boule Foundation, and as Co-Chair of the Pittsford Schools Inclusivity Committee. In addition, he was very active in his church, Immaculate Conception/St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. Bill earned a bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, and a master’s degree from the University of Memphis. He also attended the Program for Management Development, an executive development program, at Harvard University.
Castle was born in New Orleans, LA, and is survived by his wife, Musette, brother, sister, three children and four grandchildren.
