This month we celebrate new opportunities, awards and the talents of these alumni!
New Opportunities
Justin Niebel’06 (Business Administration & Communication) started a new position at Spectrum Enterprise, as Manager Data Managed Service Specialist Vertical Teams. Niebel also serves as the Giving Ambassador on the Alumni Council.
Gabriel Ankamafio ’07 (Biology) hosted a tasting event: Homechow meal delivery service launched in Rochester (rochesterfirst.com) In attendance was Michelle Blaakman ’07,‘14 and Sarah Riddell ’19,‘21 from the Roberts Alumni Relations team.
2023 Reconocimiento Award
Congratulations to Mai Ho’10 (Organizational Management), Manager of Administration and Marketing for the City of Rochester, for receiving the 2023 Reconocimiento Award for Inspirational Leadership from Latinas Unidas! The luncheon was held on Nov. 17.
Ho was honored for her professional accomplishments, along with her service to the Rochester community.
Forty Under 40 Award
Bob Hartman ’07 (Religion & Philosophy), VP, Product Strategy and Design MVP Health Care and Andrew Sewnauth ’13 (NES MDiv), President and COO, CDS Life Transitions were selected for the Rochester Business Journal’s 2022 class of Forty Under 40 winners.
The honorees are men and women, under the age of 40, who have achieved professional success and who have also made significant civic contributions to the community. The Forty Under 40 awards were presented on Nov. 16 at the Strong Museum of Play.
Making a Difference
Malik Dare’18 (Business Administration) organized the third annual Dare to Donate Food Drive! Assemblymember Patricia Fahy from District 109 gave a “shout out” to Dare for his work on this food drive and serving the community.
Artist Feature
Steve Conklin ’88 (Art Studio), former Canisteo-Greenwood art teacher for 30 years, hopes to inspire people who view his art to see the beauty in nature and all around them. He also painted a mural for the Sweet Acres Creamery in Geneva, NY. Conklin and his wife have an Art and Music inspirational Ministry doing chalk drawings and music with a Christian theme for churches and camps. Read the story.
