The Roberts Community Music School is delighted to be offering new classes this upcoming Spring. The Community Music School provides a full range of the finest instruction and musical opportunities to persons of all ages and abilities. With several new classes and instruments offered, students can increase their appreciation of music and discover a sense of joy in learning and performing.

“It is such a joy to see smiling faces fill the halls again,” said Rebecca Gartland, Director of the Roberts Community Music School. “After a year of virtual lessons, the students and teachers are excited about  making music together in person again!” 

Roberts Community Music School New Class Offerings:

Introduction to Music Theory - Begin your adventure into learning how music works! Build a foundation for understanding the basics of music theory with this Introduction to Music Theory class.

Flute Choirs - Grab your flutes and let’s get playing! The Flute Choirs are an amazing opportunity for flute players, both young and old, to come together to make beautiful music. In these friendly and supportive groups, players will work on developing their tone, technique, and musicianship skills, all while learning how to be ensemble musicians.

Chamber Music Ensemble Lab - Explore the world of chamber music in a fun and welcoming environment! Groups are formed based on student level and musicianship and are open to all ages!

Beginner Ukulele - The Ukulele is inexpensive, easy to learn, and super fun! Students from 6-17 years old are welcome in this beginning class.

Homeschool Jazz Band - Let's get swinging! Our Homeschool Jazz Band is perfect for homeschool students ages 9-18 who have at least one year of experience on their instrument and is open to piano, acoustic and electric bass, drum set, electric guitar, woodwind (sax, flute, clarinet), and brass players.

Returning Offerings:

Piano Discoveries - This group piano class is designed for beginners ages 5-7 and it provides a fun, relaxing way to nurture your child's interest in piano learning.

Musiking with Munchkins - Musiking with Munchkins is a ten-week course for children birth through 24 months and their caregivers. In this course, we will sing, chant, move, and play together, exposing your infant or young toddler to a wide variety of music and music concepts. This is a foundation-building class and is very play-based.

Tunes with Tots - Tunes with tots is a ten-week course for children 2-4 years of age and their caregivers. In this course we will sing, chant, move, play, and explore instruments together, deepening your toddler’s knowledge of music and music concepts. This class continues to develop a foundation that will lead to success in classroom music or beginning instrument classes while providing children with more opportunities for independent music-making.

Private Lessons - Lessons are available for piano, voice, string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. You can choose between 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons.
