Student Spotlight: Coreen McElligott'21 (Literacy Education, MED)

Coreen McElligott

Coreen McElligott'21 (Literacy Education, MED) received the Rochester Area Colleges Continuing Education (RACCE) Outstanding Adult Student Award at a virtual celebration on April 28.

Coreen epitomizes what it means to be a successful adult student. She is a full-time kindergarten teacher at Ivan Green Primary School in East Irondequoit Central School District.  During her studies, like any adult student, she also had challenges and victories in her personal life. Through it all, Coreen excelled in her studies. She made beautiful connections between theory and practice, between her classes and her classroom. As her advisor and teacher, I am just so proud of Coreen's success,” said Elizabeth Y. Stevens, Associate Professor of Education and Director of Literacy MED Program.

Congratulations Coreen on this well-deserved recognition! #lifeatRoberts
