Alumni Spotlight: Herb Alexander '15 ,'17 (History , Strategic Leadership, M.S.) and Elias Laboy'18 (Nursing) Interviewed on 13 WHAM

Herb Alexander '15 ,'17 (History , Strategic Leadership, M.S.) ,Chief Diversity Officer / Associate Dean of Students at Roberts Wesleyan College, and Elias Laboy'18 (Nursing), R.N. at Golisano Children's Hospital, were interviewed on 13 WHAM’s “Many Voices, Many Visions” program by Alexis Arnold on March 7th. 

The interview discussed Laboy’s efforts to create a pathway for students of color to pursue secondary education in medicine. Given his passion for this, Laboy started a GoFundMe campaign to raise scholarship money for students of color. A $1500 scholarship was awarded to a Roberts Wesleyan College student so far.

Alexander talked about the importance of having a diverse workforce and how Roberts Wesleyan College is creating opportunities and access for students through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming.
