Roberts Wesleyan College launched the Rochesterian Award program in 2020 to recognize alumni who through their professional and personal commitments have made a major impact on the Greater Rochester Community. As a Christian college, service to others is a key attribute that we highly value and celebrate in our alumni. The alumni, recognized for their work in 2020, received the award in January 2021.
The first recipients of the Rochesterian awards at Roberts Wesleyan College are:
Dalton Letta '16 (BELL)
Letta is the President and Founder of Campaign D and works to promote a message of hope and compassion through autism advocacy, outreach activities and awareness. Letta’s calling is to build an inclusive community where people with and without autism can support, understand and learn from one another. In addition to Campaign D, he also launched the No One Eats Lunch Alone program. Letta also volunteers to help others with autism in the community. He was selected for his many accomplishments in the Town of Gates as an autism ambassador. Letta also has partnered with the Gates Chief of Police Jim VanBrederode, New York State Senator Joe Robach and Monroe County Legislator Frank Allkofer to raise awareness about autism in the Greater Rochester region.
Angelica Perez-Delgado '10 (MS Health Administration)
Perez-Delgado is the seventh President and CEO in the 50-year history of Ibero American Action League, Inc. Ibero, a dual-language human services agency, ignites the potential of individuals and families in New York State’s Latino community.
She is active with several community organizations including the CFC/Hillside Behavioral Health Collaborative and the board of the Father Laurence Tracy Advocacy Center.
Perez-Delgado was selected because of the important work she has done, through Ibero, in the Rochester community for people with a Latino background. Ibero has been especially helpful to the community during the COVID-19 crisis.
Jamarr D. Myers '06 (Business Administration) and '08 (MS Strategic Leadership)
Myers is the EnCompass Future Ready Program Coordinator. As a teen, he was part of the Hillside School to Work Program which resulted in employment at Wegmans and scholarship money for college. Myers worked for 18 years at Wegmans and helped to launched a new store in Maryland. In the Fall ‘19 he was asked to transition from employment at Wegmans to full time leadership of youth development program (EnCompass) supported by both the Wegmans and the Sands Foundation. EnCompass, focuses on youth development with a special emphasis on education and job readiness.
Myers and his brother Jermayne, founded Black Men Achieve (Roc BMA). Roc BMA also has an awards program to highlight black men who have made a positive impact on the Rochester community.
