April Redford is the recipient of the 2020-2021 Dr. William W. Walence Health Administration Scholarship.
Congratulations go out to April Redford, a Bachelors in Health Administration Program student, cohort 26. An anonymous donor has established the Dr. William W. Walence Health Administration Scholarship to support a student studying in a health administration program at Roberts Wesleyan College. Consideration was given to the student who exhibits excellence in academic achievement and stewardship, as evidenced by the student's community service record and submitted essay.
April has worked in the medical field as a medical assistant and medical biller. She currently works at the University of Rochester as a prior authorization/referral specialist and manages a pizza place part-time. April hopes to move up to a management position within the University of Rochester after completing a master's degree. Working two jobs and taking full-time classes at Roberts Wesleyan College has made her more confident in pursuing her dreams. She believes, "It is never too late to pursue a change or advancement opportunity."
As a scholarship award, April will receive a total of $500 to use towards tuition and books for the remainder of the program.
