Redhawks Who Soar - September 2020

Roberts Wesleyan College is proud of its 19,356 living alumni who are working in the fields of healthcare, social work, business, education, criminal justice, ministry, non-profits and entrepreneurship – to name a few!

L.B. McCune’72 (Social Work) is the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students at Kettering University.  His responsibilities include oversight of Co-Curricular Programs and Activities; Office of Multi-Cultural Student Initiatives, the Wellness Center, Student Life Initiatives, Residence Life, Greek Life, Community Service and Recreational Services.

Prior to accepting his current position at Kettering, he served as the Director of the Office of Multicultural Student Initiatives, Associate Dean of Students and Chief Judicial Officer for the University.

His previous employment includes serving as Academic Dean of Students at Detroit College of Business and Davenport University. He also served as adjunct faculty at Baker College. Dr. McCune holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Roberts Wesleyan College, a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan and a Doctoral Degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Interim Rochester Police Chief, Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan’96 (Organizational Management) is the first woman to serve as Chief in the City of Rochester. “She will officially assume the role (albeit on an interim basis) Oct. 14, almost 20 years to the day after becoming only the second Black woman in RPD history to achieve the rank of lieutenant. Moses Robinson’15 (Criminal Justice) has been promoted to Command Staff at the Rochester Police Department and will play a critical role in fostering better relations between police and residents, as well as in seeking solutions to put an end to violence in our community. Robinson has been employed by the Rochester Police Department since December 1985.

Kim Huynh’19 (Business Administration) is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. She will be based at the Penfield office.

Herb Alexander’17’15 (Strategic Leadership, M.S., History) has been appointed the Chief Diversity Officer at Roberts Wesleyan College effective Sept. 7.  He will be leading efforts and initiatives that inspire the college community to value and celebrate diversity and facilitate a culture where all people feel safe, valued and empowered through education and advocacy.
