Men's Basketball Helps Kick Off Community Mentoring Program

On Thursday, November 15th, the Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team partnered with Herb Alexander, Director of Multicultural Student Success to kick-off the E.L.I.T.E. mentoring program.

The E.L.I.T.E. (Experiencing Leadership & Inspiring True Excellence) program partners with Rochester Prep Elementary, an inner city charter school to work alongside them to expose kids to the value of higher education.

To launch the program seven members of the Roberts Wesleyan men's basketball team visited Rochester Prep's Jay street location. The team sat in classes, answered questions regarding overcoming struggles and talked about the importance of leadership within the community. Following this kick-off, the students from Rochester Prep will visit Roberts Wesleyan College in February to get the college experience first-hand.
