Palmer Re-Elected Chair of Roberts & Northeastern Board of Trustees

Palmer Re-Elected Chair of Roberts Wesleyan College & Northeastern Seminary Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary has re-elected Dwight M. (Kip) Palmer as chair of the board for another term. Effective Oct. 8, Palmer will remain the chair of the 23-member board until October 2019.

“I am delighted by the outcome of the board election,” said Deana L. Porterfield, president of Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary. “Kip is a strategic businessman and friend of the college and seminary. Having a strong leader who understands our mission and goals is critical. As we celebrate our 150th year, our focus remains on the future — for creating an engaged campus culture, innovative growth and transformational partnerships.”

Palmer has served multiple terms on the board of trustees since 1997. He has been integral in the conceptualization of the college’s strategic plan and served on the Legacy 150 capital campaign committee.

As a fifth-generation leader of Rochester-based Palmer Family of Companies, he serves as CEO and oversees nearly 200 employees and millions of dollars in sales each year. Palmer contributes his time and resources on a variety of local charitable and business organizations. He received a B.A. from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

“Serving as chair of the board of trustees is a tremendous honor,” Palmer said. “I am grateful for the confidence that the boards have placed in me and I look forward to continuing our work to offer the best experience for our undergraduate, adult, graduate and doctorate learners. At Roberts and Northeastern, the students are active agents in their education and we want to provide an environment and atmosphere that enable all students to achieve their goals.”
