Roberts Made a Difference! – Anna Antonopoulos ‘02 (Biology)

I attended Roberts from 1998 to 2002 where I graduated with a degree in Biology. After graduation, I went to medical school and am now a pediatric hospitalist and child abuse pediatrician. I spend some of my clinical time at our local Children's Advocacy Center, a place where children who have been abused go for medical exams, forensic interviews, and therapy.

My education at Roberts Wesleyan provided a solid foundation in science that I was able to build on in medical school. Scholarships were essential as I came from a working-class family and my parents were not able to provide any assistance for college or medical school. Medical education is extremely expensive, so every little bit helps. Without scholarships, I would've had even more debt after medical school. I'm thankful for my education at Roberts. I am most thankful for the Christian faith based education at Roberts. Without having that foundation of my life, it would be very hard to do what I do on a daily basis. If I didn't have faith in a Heavenly Father, this profession would be hopeless.
