Greetings from Professor Kirby Trask, Chair, Department of Criminal Justice

I extend departmental greetings to all alumni, students, and friends of the Criminal Justice program.  The Rochester area is experiencing a record warm November which makes it hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week.  Following Thanksgiving break students have one week of class remaining before final exams.  Please keep students in your prayers as they complete papers, projects, and study for final exams.

Our department has 48 students enrolled as Criminal Justice or Economic Crime Investigation majors.  We continue to move forward with the development of a third major in Homeland Security and Applied Intelligence.  If all goes as planned, this major will be offered beginning in the Fall 2016 semester.

The Criminal Justice Club has been active with social events and extra-curricular activities, to include self-defense training this past week.  The club president, Sam Mitchell, has been doing an outstanding job of providing leadership for the club.  During the spring semester members of the club will be participating in an Urban Criminal Justice trip to Boston, Massachusetts.

Full time and adjunct faculty members are busy teaching, presenting at conferences/forums, advising, developing new initiatives, and being a voice for justice in the greater Rochester area.  Please keep each of our faculty and staff in your prayers as they balance work and family with endless opportunities.  As always, if you find yourself near the college, then please stop by for a visit.

Have a wonderful end of Fall and Winter season!
