Greetings, I hope this newsletter finds you enjoying the fresh smells and greener sights associated with spring. By mid-April most winter enthusiasts have stored away their skis and snowshoes and are doing all they can to keep up with the chores and opportunities of spring. Next to the privilege of teaching and working with students at Roberts, the change of seasons is what keeps me and my family in this part of the country.
Please keep students, staff, administration, and faculty in your prayers. Our students are in their fifteenth week of classes and finals begin on May 4th. Papers, projects, exams, other commitments, and of course a little play time will ensure students receive limited sleep through the end of the semester. Staff and administration are keeping up with current students, as well as beginning the process of welcoming new students. Faculty are advising, teaching, grading, as well as reaching out to prospective students. Your prayers are much appreciated!
The Criminal Justice Department, which serves as the home for all traditional Criminal Justice and Economic Crime Investigation students, as well as the home for adult learners in the Criminal Justice Administration Program, is in the early stages of exploring a new major in Homeland Security and National Intelligence. Assistant Professor Mark Concordia who served over a decade with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) has been the lead sponsor of this proposal. His expertise and contacts will be instrumental in this program coming into fruition and its ultimate success. Stay tuned!
