Share thisNursing Professor Dorman Contributes to WROC Story on Nursing Home Staffing Crisis
Robert Dorman, Director of Traditional and Graduate Nursing Programs and Associate Professor at Roberts Wesleyan University was recently interviewed by WROC to share his thoughts about the nursing staffing crisis.
Undergraduate nursing students are formally introduced to the concept of integrated care -- mind, body and person which is the backbone of nursing education at Roberts -- in their sophomore year. In addition, Roberts educates students about recognizing burnout in themselves, and others, and how to self-care.
“What we need to do is concentrate on the people currently working and keep them in the industry,” said Dr. Robert Dorman, Director of Nursing for Roberts Wesleyan. “Bring it to the younger people interested in getting into nursing.”
Among the health-related programs offered at Roberts Wesleyan are nursing, social work, public health, health administration, and occupational therapy.
