Share thisMusic Friday: 700 Third Graders and their Teachers Visited Campus for a Special Educational Concert
On March 8th, the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Orchestra welcomed over 700 third graders and their teachers to campus for a special educational concert. This was the first orchestra concert many of these third graders have attended.
The orchestra performed several selections from their March concert and ended the program with a crowd favorite: Star Wars. Each instrument was also demonstrated for the students, as most of them will have the opportunity to select an instrument during fourth grade.
"This is always my favorite concert of the year" shared Rebecca Gartland, Roberts music alum ('17) and current RWCCO member. "Seeing the joy on these kids' faces always helps me remember when I fell in love with music myself!"
Several classes sent follow up thank you notes (featured below) to the music department to express their thankfulness for the concert. Both the performers and music teachers are looking forward to next year's concert already!
