Dr. Ruth E. Simpkins’59 passed away on September 25, 2021. Simpkins served as a Trustee for Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary from 1994-2006. She was elected Trustee Emeritus from 2009-2013.
Simpkins was a graduate of the class of 1959. In 1991, she received the Roberts Wesleyan Alumnus of the Year for her life of exemplary service. Her love and loyalty to the College was evident as she was a Founder FELLOW, a Barnabas Society member, Heritage Society member and generous benefactor.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Roberts, Ruth received her Master’s degree and her PhD from Temple University. She was Professor Emerita, Department of Psychology, at Rider University.
The depth of her worship and her acts of service expressed her faith in Jesus Christ. She generously provided scholarship and employment assistance to individuals in need on numerous occasions.
