Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program Centralized Application Available

Our applicant entry-level occupational therapy doctoral (OTD) program is committed to transforming you to become a spiritually mature, service-oriented direct care provider, consultant, educator, manager, leader, researcher, and advocate for the profession and the consumer.

Prospective students with the goal to become an occupational therapist who promotes the health, well-being, and quality of life for all persons, groups, and populations can now complete this application for fall 2021. The application is available in the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service (OTCAS). The program launch is pending ACOTE candidacy, New York State Education Department approval, and Middle States Commission on Higher Education approval.

  • Experiential learning: Community immersion service projects with a focus on occupational justice, Clinical Fieldwork I and II, and individualized capstone projects.
  • State-of-the-art facilities in Crothers Science and Nursing Center.

Career & Employment Outcomes for OTD graduates:

  • Clinical practitioners and educators; more likely to own their own businesses and be involved in scholarly research and presentations/publications and many receive awards and grants for their work. (Smallfield, Flanigan, & Sherman, 2019)
  • Occupational therapists (OTs) treat patients across the lifespan who have injuries, illnesses, or disabilities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities or “occupations.”
  • OTs work in hospitals, clinics, home health services, universities, industries or private practice.
  • All states require occupational therapists to be licensed.
  • Employment of occupational therapists is projected to grow 18 percent from 2018 to 2028.
