Alumni on the Frontlines: Judy Rich'74 (Nursing)

Alumni Judy Rich (R.N., MSN) is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Tuscon Medical Center in Arizona. As the CEO, she is on the frontlines battling a coronavirus hot spot. She ensures an integrated health care delivery system and to do that she has had to expand the ICU by more than 50% due to the increasing number of cases at the hospital in July, so far.

Judy graduated from Roberts in 1974 with a degree in Nursing and has her graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She started her career as a nurse and climbed the ladder to become an administrator.  She has served as president and CEO of Tucson Medical Center (TMC) since 2007.

While my current name badge reads “CEO” – my life calling is as a nurse. I am on the patient care units at TMC every day talking with staff about what they need, asking them how they are feeling and, sometimes, crying with them after a particularly difficult shift. - Judy Rich (Credit: tucson.com)
