June 30, 2020Student Spotlight: Nicole Hopkins'20 Awarded the 2020 St. Jerome Guild Health Professional Scholarship
Nicole Hopkins'20 (BSN) received a $500 scholarship in memory of Dorothy Baker, a dedicated Honorary Guild volunteer. She is a registered nurse at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia and has served six years in the Pain Center.
"Nicole's project was establishing a mentoring program for newer nurses in the Emergency Department. As a seasoned nurse, she recognized the impact support from an experienced nurse can mean to retention and quality patient care. Amidst the challenges of Covid, teaching her own children school and working in the hospital, Nicole has demonstrated quality work as she navigated our RN to BS program," shared Director of the Traditional Program and Associate Professor of Nursing at Roberts Wesleyan College, Sharon Davis,
Hopkins is a student in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and will finish her degree in August 2020.
