A Message from the Chief Academic Officer to Graduates

To the class of 2020 -

When you imagined your graduation, I expect you had in mind a happy day of celebration on our beautiful campus with your loved ones. Unfortunately, such a day at such a location is not possible this year. And I want to express how disappointing that is for each and every one of you.

But I also want to note that the altered circumstances don’t negate the marvelous accomplishment of earning a college degree. Your hard work and, even at times, sacrifices have led you to this honor. With the guidance of your professors, you have challenged yourselves to consider new ideas, develop your own insights, and stretch your intellect in many ways – abilities that will enable you to make a positive difference in the world.

We are immeasurably proud of you! And we wish you God’s grace as you begin the next chapter of your precious lives.

-David Basinger, Ph.D., Chief Academic Officer
