Roberts to Host Full-Day Marketing Workshop for Local Businesses

Business professionals will learn how to maximize their marketing plan and boost their brand

Developing a strategic marketing plan is critical for any business when seeking to engage new customers and deliver profitable revenue growth. To help local business professionals develop clear value propositions and a roadmap to success, Roberts Wesleyan College’s Business Solutions Institute will host a full-day workshop from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9. The workshop will take place in Shewan Recital Hall, located in the Howard Stowe Roberts Cultural Life center on campus.

The workshop is designed to provide marketers and business owners with the tools, trends and ideas to successfully boost their brand and energize their business. Presentations and interactive exercises led by Roberts marketing faculty and local subject-matter experts will cover relevant topics, such as marketing plan fundamentals, value proposition development, brand positioning and more to help organizations identify and build a strategic foundation.

“Every organization needs strong marketers who can deliver clear value propositions while also identifying the critical benchmarks and milestones that will help guide businesses down the most efficient path possible,” said Dr. Steven Bovee, executive director of community engagement at Roberts Wesleyan College. “We’re excited to work with local businesses and marketing professionals in the Greater Rochester community to provide tangible lessons, tools and resources that will streamline their marketing efforts.”

The day’s events will also feature a keynote presentation led by Jon Alhart, managing partner of digital services at Dixon Schwabl, and Kim Allen, managing partner of communications at Dixon Schwabl. The pair will discuss 20 marketing trends and how best to apply them in 2020 using the latest technologies that are transforming today’s marketplace.

The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Laura L. Falco, professor of Marketing at Roberts Wesleyan College, and Natalie Anderson, executive director of central development at Rochester Institute of Technology. Participants will take away a useful set of materials to put key learnings into action, including presentation slides, a workbook and a newly developed value proposition. Participants will receive a digital certificate of completion after the workshop. For more information on this event or to register, click here. The cost to participate is $119.99 and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
