Roberts Wesleyan Fall 2019 Sports Team Summaries

Men’s Soccer:

The Roberts Wesleyan men’s soccer team had its best season in the past four years with a 9-8-1 record. The Redhawks made the East Coast Conference tournament for the first time in program history. Sophomore Dylan Ruiz’s 17 goals was tied for sixth in the country in individual goals scored. Ruiz was named the ECC Offensive Player of the Year.

Women’s Soccer:

The Roberts Wesleyan women’s soccer team finished the year 9-5-2 but missed out on East Coast Conference postseason play. In the final game of the season the Redhawks upset the defending NCAA DII National Champions Bridgeport, 2-1.

Volleyball:

The Roberts Wesleyan volleyball team posted a 2-22 record during the 2019 campaign. Senior Rachel Holmes recorded her 1,000th career dig in the final match of the regular season.

Men’s Golf:

The Roberts Wesleyan men’s golf team finished the fall portion of their schedule competing in four tournaments along the way. The highest placing of the season so far was sixth place at the Post University Invitational.

Women’s Tennis:

The Redhawks’ women’s tennis team completed its fall season with a 3-8 overall record and 0-4 mark in the East Coast Conference.

Cross Country:

The men’s and women’s cross country teams each earned its sixth straight East Coast Conference title. At the NCAA DII East Region Championships, the men’s team took first place for the first time in program history. The women’s team placed second overall. Both teams moved on to the NCAA DII National Championships held in Sacramento, California. The race takes place on Nov. 23.
