Redhawks Who Soar - November 2019

Roberts Wesleyan College is proud of its 18,000+ living alumni who are working in the fields of healthcare, social work, business, education, ministry, non-profits and entrepreneurship – to name a few!

Daniel Kasambira’91 (Social Work), Hogan Family YMCA Executive Director in Alabama, was named the Community Servant of the Year. He received this award at the Madison Chamber of Commerce Best in Business Awards.

Rebekah Lewin’96 (Business Administration) is the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial aid at the University of Rochester Simon Business School. She has over twenty years of admissions experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Read more.

David Goldberg’97 (Communication) is the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and Community Relations at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston, MA. Under his leadership, the hospital recently won a Healthcare Advertising Award for its digital video featuring drone footage of the hospital and surrounding community. Watch the video.

Paul Gangrossa”97’04 (OM, MSMK) has been promoted to Public Relations and Content Supervisor at Dixon Schwabl. He is responsible for leading strategy on public relations and content marketing accounts.

Claire Haggerty’02 (Nursing) is a Health Care Consultant for the Child Care Council, Inc. in Rochester. She has over 25 years of nursing experience working in areas like oncology, pain treatment, group-home nursing, teaching and hospice care.

Laura Mayer’08 (M.E., Childhood and Special Education) is the Assistant Vice Principal at Merton Williams Middle School for Hilton Central School District. Previously she was a classroom teacher; most recently for sixth grade.

Michael McGinnis’11 (Marketing) is a Content Marketing Manager for Dixon Schwabl. He is responsible for content ideation and creation across multiple agency teams.

Shawanda Green’11 (MSL) is the Service Area Manager at Wegmans’ newest store in Brooklyn, New York. She will manage the front end, customer service desk, maintenance, accounting office and Helping Hands. Green will also be responsible for community giving, which is part of Wegmans’ commitment to make a difference in every community it serves.

Corey Mortimer’12 (OM) is assistant vice president of information technology at Tompkins Financial Corporation. He also serves the board of directors for Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.

Laura Miller’13’17 (Business Administration, MSL) is the Corporate Relations Director, Social Campaigns at the American Heart Association in Rochester. Previously she was a Senior Administrative Assistant, Corporate Communications at Paychex.

John E. Knight’15 (Cross Disciplinary Studies) graduated from Air Force basic training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, TX in August. Knight is an Airman 1st Class.

Taylor Bynoe’19 (Sports Management and Marketing) is studying for her Master’s degree in Sports Business at Temple University. She is also the Assistant Coach for basketball at Rowan College at Gloucester County in New Jersey and Game Day Staff for the Philadelphia Eagles.
