Roberts Celebrates Winter 2017 Commencement
Rev. Marlowe Washington of The Historic Parsells Church to Deliver Keynote Address
Roberts Wesleyan College will celebrate its winter commencement on Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Howard Stowe Roberts Cultural Life Center in the Andrews B. Hale Auditorium on campus, located at 2301 Westside Drive, Rochester N.Y. 14624. Nearly 150 students receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees — as well as family members, friends, faculty and staff — will be on hand to celebrate. The master’s degree (61 students) and adult undergraduate bachelor’s degree (88 students) ceremony will take place at 10 a.m.
"We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our students and their successful completion of their degree programs,” President Deana L. Porterfield said. “We are confident that as they begin their next chapter, they will utilize their Roberts education for the improvement of not only their own careers but also for the good of their communities, neighborhoods and workplaces. Our graduates have been transformed by learning to connect their heads to their hearts and engage their hands in service to others."
The Rev. Dr. Marlowe V.N. Washington, an adjunct professor of religion at Roberts Wesleyan, will serve as the keynote speaker. He is the lead pastor at The Historic Parsells Church in Rochester.
