2015 Alumni of the Year

Each year, the College takes time to honor alumni who make a significant impact on their community and profession.  The alumni chosen for these awards are recognized for their professional excellence, service to community, and lifestyle that promotes the spirit and mission of Roberts Wesleyan College.

Roberts Wesleyan College celebrated its alumni on October 14, awarding its two highest alumni honors.  Kim T. Do ‘03 (Marketing) was honored as the 2015 Young Alumna of the Year and Wesley R. Skinner, Jr. ’70 (Chemistry) was honored as the 2015 Alumnus of the Year.

Kim currently works as Strategic Communications Director for Nuru International, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end extreme poverty in remote rural areas.  Previous to that, Kim was Vice President of Arena Marketing and producer for two theatrical Christmas productions at Willow Creek Community Church, each attended by over 70,000 people.

Wes spent 40 years with Manth-Brownell, Inc. (in Kirkville, NY), 23 of those years as President.  Wes retired in 2014 and is currently Chairman of the Board.  Manth-Brownell employs over 100 skilled craftsmen, quality, tooling, and manufacturing engineers.  Wes served on the Board of Trustees from 1984-1988, 1998-2002, and then came back on the Board in 2014.  His leadership has helped give crucial guidance to both Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary.

The awards were presented in Chapel in front of family, friends, students, faculty, and staff.
