Leadership Breakfast a Chilly Success

Our Fall Leadership Breakfast fell on a cold, rainy morning, but for those who braved the weather, it was a wonderful opportunity to grab a tasty breakfast and coffee while networking with other Rochester Area professionals and listening to President Deana Porterfield speak on what makes for a successful leader.

President Porterfield’s speech, entitled “Orchestrating a Life of Influence” gave participants a glimpse into her personality, the advice that led her to her own journey of leadership and some great tips and strategies for strategically using their own gifts and strengths in leading and influencing in whatever job at whatever level they find themselves.

A moment of lightness interrupted the presentation as the early morning rain gave way to snow. It was President Porterfield’s first snowfall in a place she calls home, and she enlisted everyone’s help in marking the moment with a photo.

With nearly 75 community leaders, business men and women and Roberts Wesleyan faculty and staff, the morning was a perfect chance to network and catch up with connections and friends.

Our Leadership Breakfasts are free and held once each semester. Make sure you don’t miss our next breakfast: Contact Kelly Smith at smith_kellye@roberts.edu to get on our mailing list.
