Student Spotlight: Kaleb Colosimo '18

Kaleb Colosimo '18 is a double-major (Communication & Psychology) at Roberts, who has recently launched one of Rochester's newest theater companies, Modern Sensibilities Theatre Co. In creating this company, Kaleb and co-founder. Emma Milligan, sought to "make history accessible to young audiences and young artists alike". One way in which Modern Sensibilities is working toward this goal is by providing young people from all over the Rochester area with access to free (no fees, etc.) community theatre opportunities, the only youth theatre company in Rochester to do so.

Kaleb developed his love of theatre through his involvement in plays in church and high school. He has most recently performed in "Pride and Prejudice" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", here on campus. It's this experience that has enabled Modern Sensibilities to plan to roll out three full productions, for actors and crew aged 12-20, every year.

Their first production, "The Tempest," by Shakespeare, is set to debut tonight (7:30 p.m.) at The Strong Museum. Additional performances are set for Saturday, July 29 (2:00 p.m.), and again Friday, August 4 (7:30 p.m.), and Saturday, August 5 (2:00 p.m.). Tickets can be purchased online or at the door - $10 general admission, $5 for students and seniors. Additional details and information can be found at modernsensibilities.wordpress.com.
