Scot Bennett is a Roberts grad (1981) with a B.S. in Studio Art with an M.F.A. in Printmaking from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was Chair of the Division of Visual Arts from 2005-2010. Scot began his teaching career at Central Michigan University, moving to Northwest Nazarene University, and was at Houghton College for nineteen years before coming to Roberts Wesleyan. Bennett enjoys leading the Art in Context trips and has been traveling for the past twenty years. These groups have traveled to locations including Paris, London, Rome, Florence, Venice, Prague, Berlin, Munich, Dresden, and Madrid each of which are rich in cultural and visual experience.

Bennett considers being an active producing studio artist a requisite for teaching in the visual arts. His work combines the vocabulary of traditional and representational religious symbol with contemporary formalist mark-making in a dynamic exploration of his faith. He has an extensive exhibition record with work exhibited in galleries and churches both locally and regionally.
