Katie R. O’Donnell is the new Director of the Roberts Community Music School and Coordinator of Auditions and Special Events for the RWC Music Department. Katie graduated from Roberts Wesleyan in 2012 with a B.S. in Music Education and started her professional career teaching Pre-K through 8th grade General Music in College Park, Maryland. While there, she had the opportunity to perform throughout the Greater Washington D.C. area. In 2015, Katie moved back to Central NY where she continued to work in various school districts as a long term substitute teacher. She soon became the Program Coordinator for Houghton College's new extension site in Utica, NY. This included recruiting new students, faculty, and staff as well as marketing the new site to the local community. In her spare time, Katie has been the music director of summer musicals through the Mohawk Valley Center for the Performing Arts, coordinated fundraisers for her local community, the Rochester Ronald McDonald House, and the transplant department at Strong Memorial Hospital. Katie has performed with the Mohawk Valley Choral Society as well as her church choir as lead soprano while also serving as guest conductor when needed. Katie is proud to be working at her Alma Mater and is looking forward to giving back to the community that helped her become the person she is today.
