Biography

Born to a family of musicians and raised in Taiwan, Ms. An-Chi (Angel) Lin began playing the piano at the age of 5 and the violin at age 6. Ms. Lin received a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan and a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. An-Chi Lin has been a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 1997. She has performed with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Rochester Oratorio Society, and the Skaneatles Festival Orchestra, as well as serving as concertmaster with the Greater Rochester Women's Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, An-Chi has performed in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's Educational String Quintet, a group dedicated to bringing classical music to the elementary school children of the Rochester City Schools. Ms. Lin has also appeared in recital on WXXI’s Live from Hochstein radio broadcast with the Hochstein String Quartet and with Gibbs and Main. She has been a member of Gibbs and Main for three years and has performed with them throughout upstate New York; performances as a member of the violin-guitar ensemble Red Creek Duo have further taken her to western New York, Illinois, and California.

An-Chi is currently on the violin faculty of Roberts Wesleyan College, Hochstein School of Music, and the Nazareth Community School. She joined the faculty of InterHarmony International Music Festival in 2014. An-Chi is also an accomplished pianist and accompanist, performing regularly with her students and colleagues.
