Vice President for Student Development
Roberts Wesleyan College seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Vice President for Student Development. The Vice President will plan and lead all College programs related to student development by setting the vision and goals for each area of responsibility, including Student Life, Athletics, and the Chaplain’s office, establishing priorities, managing resources, and formulating policies to enhance the student experience, ensure safety, promote growth, and enrich the learning environment; lead and guide the planning of student spiritual formation and growth opportunities, including chapel services, spiritual formation discussions and events, promoting dialogue and understanding of student co-curricular life in pursuit of the mission of the College, and integration of faith into current cultural topics and situations. Additional areas of focus include leading, establishing priorities and managing performance of staff; participating on President's Cabinet; overseeing residential life programs that provide a safe and enriching residential community and ensure mutual respect and accountability among residential students; understanding and reporting on Student Life issues and activities; and ensuring close coordination of planning, budgeting, and governance issues as it relates to Student Life.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will understand and be a leader in communicating and modeling the mission and values of Roberts Wesleyan College, especially to student audiences. Doctoral degree preferred, Master’s degree required and 5-7 years of progressively successful student development experience with a track record of managing staff and programs that achieve results is essential, as well as outstanding relationship building and collaboration skills to work with a diverse constituency. Strong supervisory experience that demonstrates the ability to lead, coach, and develop staff to achieve goals also required. Previous experience leading or supporting student athletics desired.
