Nursing Faculty - RN to BS Program Director
Roberts Wesleyan College invites candidates to apply for a full-time (11 month), tenure-track Program Director for the RN to BS degree completion nursing program beginning July 1, 2020. The Nursing programs are housed in the School of Nursing on our park-like campus in Rochester New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.
Roberts Wesleyan College is a comprehensive, Christian college of the liberal arts, sciences, and professions serving approximately 1800 traditional and nontraditional students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The College is committed to integrating a Christian worldview with learning in order to prepare thoughtful, spiritually mature, service-oriented people who will help transform society. Roberts has more than 60 undergraduate programs/majors, including 6 different adult-degree completion programs, 14 graduate programs, and 12 online programs; our first doctoral program launched in 2016. The nursing programs are one of the largest at Roberts Wesleyan College with over 300 undergraduate and graduate students. The School of Nursing offers a traditional undergraduate pre-licensure program, RN to BS Programs, a MS in Nursing Leadership and Administration and a MS in Nursing Education. The RN to BS and graduate programs are offered in time shortened cohort formats online and in the classroom setting. Required qualifications include an earned master’s degree in nursing with preference for candidates with an earned doctorate in a relevant field and licensure to practice nursing in New York State. Preference will be given to individuals with college-level teaching and administrative experience. Candidates must be highly skilled and flexible with the ability to teach a wide variety of nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate students in traditional and nontraditional programs, including online courses. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the College’s Christian mission and identity.
Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and graduate level courses in various areas to be determined based on areas of expertise. Additional responsibilities include serving on school and college committees, advising nursing students, collaborating to develop new programs and community partnerships, and preparing for accreditation. While the primary focus for faculty is teaching, effective faculty performance will also include service, profession-related activity, and scholarship.
Leadership responsibilities: Program Directors report directly to the dean of the School of Nursing and have input into recruitment and hiring, faculty and staff evaluation, assessment of program quality, leadership of faculty who teach in the RN to BS program and budget management.
